Antique Japanese field camera made by Konishi from what I can tell by the faded nameplate. Konishi later became Konica, so this is likely pre WW2. I bought this camera in Japan for shooting tintypes but picked up another one instead while I was there. Its designed for Japanese half plate which is 12.2 x 16.5 cm. The camera is supposed to use wood book style film holders, but I dont have any and dont know exactly what kind. I was going to adapt a 4x5 Graflex back and use it that way. The back can be removed and rotated into portrait or landscape. No lens really, it has a lensboard and what seems to be a magnifying glass lens which projects an image on the groundglass, maybe for display. The bellows seem fine, no tears or detachment but I havent checked for light proofness. The front and rear can be shifted to allow for view camera movements. It has a separate pivoting bottom, maybe to allow for another movement. The rear focusing rack slips on one side when starting out a little bit then engages and works fine, it probably just needs shimmed or adjusted. The right rear support tension finger is broken off at the tip, which doesnt affect functioning except that the lock pin on that side is free to slide until the knob is tightened down. Overall the camera is functional but needs some work to make it a functional camera and not just a cool display. I didnt mess with it much because as I said, I got another camera.
