Early to mid-1860s Civil War hand tinted full plate tintype photo of a Confederate soldier armed with a Colt Navy revolver. He wears a dark shell jacket with private stripes and has a forked tongue buckle. Possibly cavalry or artillery. The initials \"E. S.\" along with the numbers \"60903\" are painted at the bottom edge. There is a name written lightly on the reverse. Unsure if this is the ID of the soldier. It appears to read, \"C. J. Gandes\" (or initials \"C. O.\") and then immediately under that, the name \"Stanhope\". Just above all that is a number \"320\". I acquired this along with one other full plate armed Confederate tintype that just sold on .

* CONDITION: Very Good++ with a few light bends and hole in the upper right corner. Some old paper adhered to reverse.
