Art Deco Czech Porcelain Novelty Smoking Man Ashtray Jolly Good Fellow 1930s:
Classic Art Deco porcelain novelty smoking man ashtray. Stamped to the base 'Foreign' but almost certainly made in the region of the German/Czech border in the 1920s. Nice quality moulding in the form of a drunken chaps monocled head with the musical legend beneath - 'For hes a jolly good fellow'! If a cigarette was rested in the mouth smoke would emanate from the holes in his ears! eliciting titters from any refined company! Very good undamged conditon - small 'wart' to the head, dont know whether this was intentional or a flaw in the making. Standing a little under 5 1/4 inches high. Please see my other items for more interesting bits and bobs. Buyer to pay shipping. Payment terms at present, cheques in Sterling, Paypal, other by arrangement. No quibble refund if item not as described and returned within 7 days. Good luck!
