Art Deco Kienzle 8 Days Clock Walnut Root Oak China Vase Design Antique Vintage For Sale
8 Days Kienzle Bauhaus Art Deco Desk Clock
Caucasian Walnut & Burnished Oak
Stunning late Art Deco 8 Days Kienzle Desk Clock manufactured by Kienzle around 1950 (there is a commemorative inscription at the back dated 1950)
The designer of this clock was inspired by architect Heinrich Möller , this clock design started in the 1936 catalog. The modern style of the dial is typical of his work, however notice the design of the base which takes its inspiration from chinese wooden vase base. As opposed to France, Germany took a lot of inspiration from Japan and China during the art deco era.
The body of the clock is burnished oak, the back of the dial is caucasian walnut.
Kienzle was among the clock manufacturer in Germany the most advanced in terms of design - their products were marvels of engineering as well as perfection when it came to details.
Their design was also a forerunner of what would be standard even 40 years later: minimalistic design focused on ergonomy and purity of form.
Don´t miss this opportunity 20 cm / 8"
