ITEM DESCRIPTION
STYLE: Art Nouveau TECHNIQUE:Manufacture: Dust pressed clay tile using a mould & horsehead press, then burned.Decoration: Relief molded majolica finished with colored glazes. ORIGIN:Englandby Pilkington's MARKS: Each tile has a characteristic factory background some factories usedstamped logoson each tile. Thickness of biscuit depends but usually is 0.33 inches aprox. APPROXIMATE DATE: Between 1890 to 1910
ITEM CONDITION This tile is in very fine condition, no flaws or repairs exist. Cement on reverse was carefully removed so minimal traces are remaining. Surface, as you can see, has a firm color and smooth glaze surface. Only minimal scratches and tiny chips may be seen,but on edgesso easilyhidden with grouting when reinstalling.Nothing for a more than 100 year old architectural piece. If you are buying many of them andyou want a picture to have a look of the general condition no problem to supply, but image shown is well representative of tiles you will get. I am very careful when selecting the pieces to my clients.
