This sale is for L\'Assiette au Beurre N˚48, Crimes et Châtiments, entirely done by Félix Vallotton and done in the traditional lithographic process on high quality lithographic papers, as announced on the last page of the issue. It is the sole issue of L\'Assiette that was done on a single side of the paper.
As you know, the political/social satirical L\'Assiette au Beurre,was founded by Samuel Schwarz in 1901 and was a hebdomadaire(weekly) \"magazine\". Mr. Schwarz, generally, did use much higher quality paper than many of the other similar publications of the day, thus many of copies of the \"magazine\" survive in rather nice condition. Please note that every issue of L\'Assiette au Beurre (the plate of butter) is an antique, which is to say that they are all more than 100 years old. Please examine each of the picture of the various pages since the photos offer a far better description that we could offer in words. The pictures should be considered an essential part of the description.
