This nine piece assortment of vintage French Art Deco silver plate forks and spoons is made up of:- Three Christofle cake forks and two oyster forks designed in the “Boréal” pattern. The“Boréal” pattern was created for Christofle during the FrenchArt Decoperiodby the celebrated designer piece bears two maker’s marks of the famousMaison Christofle in Paris. Thefirstmaker’s mark consists of the name “Christofle” written in block letters and the initials “O.C.” (Orfèvrerie Christofle) surrounding the image of a scale surmounted by four stars. The second maker’s mark consists ofthe initials O.C. (Orfèvrerie Christofle) surrounding the figure of a knight from a chess set.- A Christofle fork designed in the Printania pattern created byChristoflebefore 1927, an early example of the Art Deco style.It bears the maker’s mark of the famousMaison Christofle in Paris - the name “Christofle” written in block letters and the initials “C.C.” (Charles Christofle) surrounding the images of a scale surmounted by four stars. The number “90” on the maker’s mark indicates the silver content in grams for twelve pieces (90 gr.). - Three Ercuis coffee spoons designed in a pattern similar to the Christofle “Printania” pattern. Each piece bears the maker’s mark of theErcuis company consisting of the letters “O” and “E” surrounding the image of a centaur. There are two other marks, one consisting of the initials “P.V.” and the other, “18 gr.” indicating the silver content in grams for twelve pieces.
These pieces are in very good condition with the exception of superficial scratches, all due to age and normal use. They will be aprestigious addition to your table setting or your collection. Please refer to the detailed photos on this page.
