This stunning bracelet is filled with an incredible
collection of vintage puffy heart charms. These répoussé heart charms came from
a box marked as reproductions.
Apparently these charms where made in the 1970s-1980s fashioned from original
1920s-1940s patterns. They are in excellent age appropriate condition as seen
in the pictures attached.
The vintage silver bracelet measures about 6¾” in length and
is fastened with a secure heart-shaped padlock.
A puffy charm is fashioned from a thin sheet of silver or
gold. It is embossed or formed with a répoussé process and seamed, leaving the
inside of the charm hollow. This makes the charm very lightweight and
"puffy”. Often the charms are embellished with hand-engraving and
additional chasing to enhance the details.
This bracelet is from the estate of Joan Munkacsi. Joan, of A Charmed Existence, was an avid and
extremely knowledgeable collector and seller of vintage charms and charm bracelets.
We miss her.
