A beautiful free-blown cobalt blue glass mug with individually shaped handle; the base with an unpolished pontil mark, possibly Bristol. 19th century.

This wonderful mug is a stunning color and a great decorative item or addition to your collection of antique blue glass.The cylindrical section was made by blowing the molten glass through a tube or \'rod\' and shaping it with metal calipers - you can see on the underside the \'pontil\' markwhere the cylinder was snapped off the glassblower\'s rod when it was finished. The handle was individually shaped from a separate piece ofmolten glass.

The mug is approximately 5 1/4 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter .The color is absolutely stunning as you can see, and there are no chips, cracks or restoration - offer with confidence on this really GREAT and classy piece of glass. .
