Attractive Pair Silver Plated On Copper Georgian Extending Candlesticks:
These are a very good pair of silver plated candlesticks
These are silver plated on copper. The silver plating shows very minor wear on a couple of edges allowing the copper to show through
They have great Georgian styling and are 8 1/2 inches tall and extended they are 10 1/2 inches tall
Obviously with an item of this age they do show signs of wear but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance
The top of one stick appears to lean to one side
I have described these candlesticks as Georgian, but they may be Victorian and I would leave it to buyers to make their own judgement
PLEASE READ BEFORE offerDING
Postage / Shipping
Please make sure you are aware of postage/shipping costs before offerding. I am happy to answer any questions. I use Royal Mail for all deliveries. Postage costs for all my items are based on the actual charges plus a small cost for packaging.
The dilemma for posting is that buyers usually prefer the cheapest postage option whilst sellers prefer the most secure and insured service. Items which are delicate and /or valuable I would always recommend a more secure service which provides insurance and tracking where this is possible. (Some postal services exclude antiques, glass, ceramics, silver etc from their compensation schemes )
I try to quote several options on the listing. When the listing ends it is often easier to choose the best service depending on the destination and final value of the item. I always e-mail the winning buyer an invoice or e-mail message to advise postage options with appropriate cover / tracking where possible.
I pack all items with extreme care to ensure that you receive them in the best condition. Loss and breakages are rare but do happen so an insured service is recommended for delicate or valuable items.( where this is possible) I provide proof of posting (and tracking references if appropriate postage has been used) should a parcel go astray.
Postage costs vary depending on destination, weight ,value, tracking and insurance cover. I am happy for buyers to collect or to arrange their own postage / shipping.
Within the UK I use Royal Mail 1st class Recorded Delivery, Special Delivery and Standard Parcels or Parcelforce 48 for large and heavy items. ( UK First class & Standard Parcel only insure up to £46 and have no tracking.)
For overseas delivery customers have a choice of standard Airmail or International Signed For (at an extra charge for increased insurance.) Both these services have a weight limit of 2 kilos. Please note that standard airmail is not trackable and only insures up to £46. Where overseas items exceed 2kg in weight I use Parcel Force International Value service.
I recommend sending all parcels by a fully insured and trackable service, unfortunately the Postal service doesn’t always get it right. Items selling for more than £46 should be posted UK Special delivery or Parcelforce and Overseas by Royal Mail Airsure or Internationally Signed For
Please note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, our listings are for vintage/antique/used items and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item and may show signs of natural aging and use. Please be assured that I always describe and photograph all goods as accurately as possible. However all buyers must be aware that descriptions can only be within the limitations of my knowledge of a subject.
I describe and date all items honestly with as much detail as I think will be helpful. The dating of all items is estimated unless otherwise stated. I am not an expert so descriptions should only be used as a guide.
Please ask as many questions as you feel necessary to satisfy yourself before offerding that the item is in the condition you require.
Therefore when offerding please take the above into account and if you require any further information or additional photos contact me prior to offerding as ultimately buyers are responsible for their own offers.
