Atwater Kent 3925 Circa 1922 Aka Model #1 For Sale
Offered up here is a very nice Atwater Kent 3925 Breadboard radioreceiver. Circa 1922also known as model #1. This is an original, unmodified set sold without the middle variometer. Allmodel #1 sets were sold withoutthe optional variometer. The exclusion of the thispiecewasAtwater Kent's strategyto avoid paying patentfee'sfor use ofthe Armstrong regenerative circuit which was owned byWestinghouse at the time.Atwater Kent offered the additional variometer as an option onlywith no mention to itsfunction. The use of the additionalvariometer boost the RF signal for greaterperformance to the set. I've included an additional photo of the receiver with a variometer and is included with this set. The overall condition of this receiver is incredible. Very clean original Atwater Kent board and original components. I do not know if the board has been refinished or not. The wiringappears to be vintage and period correct. Windings are nice and tight and clean. Paint on amplifier is clean and intactand includestwo very nice RCA UX-201-A rainbow tubes. Set is solduntested as i don't have theequipment to test. Model #1 Breadboard receiver's don't show up for sale that often so here is your oppurtunity to own one. I've been informed by knowledgable 'rthat the Atwater Kent board may be a reproduction. The tuner and amplifier are factoryoriginal Atwater Kent. Also, the rainbow tubes were manufactured after 1922. Please view the photos carefully and offer accordingly.
