Simply purchase and ship your heads to Atwood Performance using instructions given and the performance work will be done and returned to you in a ready to be bolted on condition. Your heads can be of the 99 or 06 casting. Do not be concerned as to which casting you have. While the 06's flow better out of the box, there is not much, if any difference, in the performance potential after the port work is completed. Heads just need to arrive in a mechanically sound condition. The Road Warrior 1.900 performance package will include:
-Full porting of intake and exhaust runners. -Polishing of both the intake and exhaust runner to its ideal finish. -New valves, springs, guides, and seals of the highest quality. The Atwood Performance Road Warrior package is not your average porting job. These are for serious street bikes looking to maximize torque and horsepower in the mid to upper RPM on an 88-107'' motor. The Road Warrior 1.900 package takes the Twin-Cam cylinder head to a whole new level of power potential. If you want maximum horsepower and torque, you have to have maximum airflow. With a 1.900 intake valve and a 1.570 exhaust valve, combined with precise porting, the port flow of these heads is in perfect balance with each other flowing a nearly perfect 80% exhaust/intake ratio. This package is put together with the best engineered parts available to date to allow for the rider who continuously punishes their bike on a daily basis while maintaining exacting tolerances with extreme
This is a stock Harley intake port. Not much to look at. The 99 casting flows a max of around 190-197 cfm in stock form. The 06 will flow in the 205 to 212 range. Simply not enough airflow capable of building the horsepower and torque levels that today's rider is looking for in their serious performing street bike.
This is an Atwood Performance intake port. Some of the changes are obvious, others are not. Air speed over the short turn is managed much better along with a dramatic increase in overall flow. It has a 60 grit finish to keep the raw fuel from falling out of atomization and remain in suspension.
This is a stock Harley exhaust port.
This is the Atwood Performance finished exhaust port. The example shown is a 99 casting. Notice the full polish finish, this helps to reduce heat soak while maximizing exhaust scavenging.
This is a comparison of Atwood Performance manganese bronze guides and stock Harley guides. The center right is intake and the center left is exhaust. The two on the outside are stock guides. Look at the increased flow capacity by the better shape. Also by running bronze guides, the clearances can be kept tighter. Tighter clearances means less oil consumption and better heat dissipation. The ring on the bronze guides is a viton oil seal to stop any infiltration of oil getting between the guide and the guide bore. Notice the fine groves at the bottom of the guides, this is a non-slip, super grip finish to hold the viton seals in their place.
Once again, Atwood Performance valves in the center, stock Harley valves on the outsides. Atwood Performance uses all Advanced Valves and valve train components. These valves are unbeatable for quality and flow. Notice the the tulip shape. These valves are forged from one piece 21-4n racing grade stainless steel alloy. They are a matched set with the guides for the tightest clearances in the industry. Intake valve= 1.900'' Exhaust valve= 1.570''
AV&V .600'' Beehive springs. They are made from an ultra clean high silicon and vanadium spring wire, the best material on the market for high lift and endurance applications. It is more expensive to use but is a no compromise component when it comes to quality and performance and that is why Atwood Performance uses them. These are good for .600'' valve lift. With these new Beehive style springs, titanium retainers become a thing of the past. By design, the weight of the retainers is just not an issue, even at .650'' lift.
Viton seals produced by AV&V. Resist higher temperatures and offer superior sealing over standard seals. Best seals on the market Atwood Performance has found.
All these superior grade components mean nothing if the cylinder heads don't flow very well. Well Atwood Performance raises the bar with the Road Warrior performance package. Below you will see average test results for the Road Warrior. No one out flows the Road Warrior with anything close in price and quality!. Compare the flow numbers if you like, and Atwood Performance welcomes anyone to have their heads verified when they receive their heads. Pay close attention to low lifts as well. Especially in the .300''-.500'' lift range where flow is most important. Notice how the cylinder heads are tested at Atwood Performance and flowed through an actual Harley Davidson cylinder bore. This is to simulate the way the cylinder head will actually flow when on the bike. All tests are performed on a SuperFlow SF600 professional model flowbench at the industry standard depression level of 28''. Intake side flowed with 3/4'' radius inlet. Exhaust flowed with 1 3/4'' X 6'' exhaust pipe. Numbers are lift and CFM. As you can see from the test results, these heads flow phenomenally. These in conjunction with the right combination of parts will make well over 100 horsepower and torque!
