Auction Of A Beautiful Vintage 9” Hull Wildflower Cornucopia Vase (w-10-8 ½):
This sale is of a beautiful vintage Hull Wildflower W-10-8½ cornucopia vase that’s 9 inches tall and about 8½ inches wide overall. Dating from 1946-47, it has a pink-cream-blue field and a clear “Hull Art U.S.A.” mark on the base. I can’t find any cracks, chips or (even in bright light) crazing anywhere (even under the foot). But there are two issues worth mentioning: First, its interior has a fair number of pin-speck glaze skips (such as in the fourth photo). There are also about six more of them around the top outside rim. And second, there are some areas around its blue base where the glaze may have micro-bubbled during firing (such as in the last photo). And as the third photo shows, a script “G” was scribed into the base before firing. I do not know what that means. But the vase is still in beautiful displayable condition and the lucky winner won’t be disappointed! (This item also will be packaged very well to protect against damage during shipment.)
Unless the buyer selects a more expensive shipping option, this will ship via USPS Parcel Post within the United States or International Priority outside the U.S. AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT CONFUSING POSTAL CHANGES: no longer includes "Parcel Post" in the shipping options I can select. This is because the postal service has created a more expensive alternative, called "Parcel Select." And the old "Parcel Post" is now called "Standard Post"... which also doesn't offer as an option. According to the guys in our local P.O. branch, these name changes are a move by the post office to get people to forget about Parcel Post and move to the more expensive Priority options. It's all very confusing. BUT, not all postal branches handle the more expensive "Parcel Select" at this point. Mine doesn't. So by picking "Parcel Select" as a shipping option, you'll still be paying old Parcel Post (or "Standard Post") rates. Whew!
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are responsible for any additional import duties, taxes or customs fees, and we do not mark overseas shipments as “gifts” to circumvent customs fees. We must receive PayPal payment within 7 days of sale close. If we don’t (and the buyer doesn’t request an extension via email), we will automatically contact the next higher buyer.
