Stunning16th Century Black and White Burgonet Helmet

Upfor sale from my own collection is an extraordinary collector\'s item, a fine German-made black and white burgonethelmet.

The helmet is dating back to the second half of the 16th century (circa 1570-1580). Itis made of two pieces. Fine embossing in form of a flower on eachearflap. The earflaps/cheek plates areoriginal and no replacements. Brim and tail lame formed of separate pieces and riveted tothe skull. Small remains of the originalleather still inside. The helmet is ofheavier weight, presumingly having been owned by an infantry officer. While it stems from aformer armory (maker\'s mark/marking on the top of the brim as well as the inventory number \"14\" on the tail lame) this is no/nomunitions grade low quality burgonet. There is a small lifetime repair/patch to the skull which is not visible from the outside. It would show well on its own or with theappropriate b-w suit of armor.

Authenticity is guaranteed for this fairly priced piece of history which nowadays even exceeds the EUR 3,000 (without the 25% commission) mark at many major European sale houses.
