Red & blue 3/4-inch cello pin has blue-line drawing of the Liberty Bell. White-lettered caption reads, THIRD LIBERTY LOAN. WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO., as stated on backpaper; union stamp on backpaper. Pin is in great shape, colors are bright & sharp -- no rust anywhere; backpaper is crisp & clean with zero evidence of aging.The Third Liberty Loan Act was a liberty bond sold during World War I that help defray war expenses of the USA. The bonds were primarily sold by Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts. They were essentially loans taken by the government promising to repay all citizens who bought war bonds.
