Awesome Aldo Londi Bitossi Mid Century Bull, Red-orange, Black Drippy Glaze For Sale
An awesome Italian pottery bull that I believe is Aldo Londi for Bitossi. I think this is a rare glaze and pattern, because I cannot find another one like this. The bull is 12 1/2 inches long and about 6 1/4 inches high, with athick red-orange glaze along his back and dripping down the sides, over a thinner matte black glaze, with some streaks of tan along his lower sides.Deeply incised, intricate patterns along this back,on his forehead and legs. His foot is marked with numbers that I can't make out and Italy. Has a 1/4 inch glaze chip on one hind leg near his foot, and a sliver chip underneath one foot that I think was done in the making. Remnant ofa paper label underneath (no writing on it). Thick, heavy pottery. This one is amazing! See the matching covered box that I am listing. sale not open to those with 0 response.
