Baldwin Locomotive Works Steam Builders Plate, Milwaukee Road 2-8-2, Brass, Rare:
Another plate from my collection that needs a new home. sale is for a brass Baldwin Locomotive Works builders plate. Plate is 9 1/4 inch in diameter and is construction #57181, October 1923. This plate is from Milwaukee Road steam locomotive #8392 later renumbered #492 in 1938. Locomotive class is L-2b which was a 2-8-2 or Mikado type locomotive. Baldwin delivered 100 locomotives in this class (8300-8399) and my notes show that none survived. Plate is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks. Has been repainted at some point. Lettering is sharp. 1 tiny edge ding at 6 o'clock There is some distortion around the upper bolt hole--the hole is slightly elongated but doesn't detract. Overall, a really nice looking plate and fairly hard to find. Buyer to pay listed shipping. Per the new policy, PayPal is the only form of payment accepted and payment must be received within 7 days of sale end. I will ship to Canada but Canadian buyers please contact me for exact shipping cost. No other international offers accepted. I pack well and if an item arrives damaged, please contact me.
