BEAUTIFUL 1880 FRENCH VICTORIAN BEVELLED ENGRAVED GLASS & BRASS JEWEL BOX NO RES
Description
Here is a largecirca 1880French Victorianbevelled glass and brassdresser box. The box measures 7 inches or 18 cm across. The box is a 6 sided hexagon shape. The box itself is made of thick clear bevelledglass panels set in a fancy brass frame standing onbrassfeet.
What makes this box special is that each of the 6 side panels and the hexagon shaped top are all deeply engraved with rose buds, stems and leaves. All this engraving is on the inside of the glass. Quite beautiful.
The lid opens on a hinge and brass catch. The inside hasa red velvet cushion.
The box is in excellent condition withno chips to the glass panels. The brass has a nice mellowgolden patina. Please seephotos formore on the look of this antique box.
