BEAUTIFUL 19TH CENTURY SET OF 12 AUSTRIAN PORCELAIN ART NOUVEAU PLATES NORESRV
Description
This listing is for a beautiful set of 12 19th Century Austrian Art Nouveau plates. The plates measures 8 5/8 inches or 21.8 cm in diameter.
The plates feature beautiful raised heavy gold gilt Art Nouveau decoration accented with black lining. The plates have a slight irridescnce and have a center gilt medallion. The edges are scalloped. They are marked on the back in overglaze handwritten Austria and Ovington Bros. Ovington Brothers was once one of the largest American importers of its day of the most richest and most elegant ware of European ateliers.
The condition of the plates are excellent with no chips or cracks. There is no wear to the gilding.
