Description Areally stunningEnglishantique Victorian solid sterling silver scent/perfume bottle case decorated with beautiful embossed cherubs and foliage, by the silversmith William Comynsand with full English silver hallmarks for London 1899. lovely condition, has a hinged side opening and also a flip-top hinged silver lid. Contains a cut/facetedcrystal glass bottle with cork stopper. With no added personal engraved monograms or inscriptions.
Measurements Measures approx3.1 inches (79mm) x2.2 inches (56mm) and is 1.25inches (32mm) deep.
Date AntiqueVictorian solid sterling silver, with a full set of English silver hallmarks for London 1899, (date letter "d"). Clear matching hallmarks on the both sides of the case and also on the lid.
Condition Lovely condition, no splits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairs, nopin/wear holesand no nasty knocks or dents either, a very nice decorative example. The side hinge and lid hinge both work perfectly and the flip-top lidopens and closes tightly. The crystal glass scent bottle is in great condition, no cracks or hairlines, it is most probably not the original bottle as it is just slightly too small, but works fine and is as it came to me. Beautiful cherub decoration and made from a good gauge of sterling silver, (weighs 49 grams excluding bottle). With no added engraved personal monograms or inscriptions.
