This sale is for a large and impressive Chinese porcelain covered jar painted with great detail dating to the 19th century. The outside of the jar depicts a continuous scene of detailed figures in a landscape with many riding on horseback, one on an elephant, and many more animals walking around below. The detail and colors in the art work is superb as can be seen in the photos. The cover is also painted with a figure sitting at a table with another serving him. The trim has a light blue enamel with a cracked ice finish accented with flowers. It is a large piece standing 17 inches (43.2cm) tall and is in excellent condition with the exception of a small drill hole just above the foot which is in shown in the last photo. There is some loss of glaze to the top of the finial on the cover and a spot on the underside of the photo. There are no chips, cracks, or restorations.
