BEAUTIFUL LARGE H.P. SINCLAIRE HOLLY PATTERN HUMIDOR OR LARGE APOTHECARY JAR :

Being offered is a beautifully cut American Brilliant period crystal humidor or stoppered jar in the Laurel pattern manufactured by H.P. Sinclaire and patented Feb. 28th 1911 by H.P. Sinclaire Jr. This substantial piece measures 7\" tall at the lip, is 6 1/2\" in diameter, weighs 5 lbs 8 oz and 5 lb 13 oz with the cork stopper. The condition is very good and is being offered as found. The piece is missing it\'s lid which has been replaced with a well fitting cork stopper. There is minor age appropriate handling wear and base wear consistent with age and weight. In the neck there is 1 1/4\" blind fracture (see pictures 8 & 9), a few fleabites on the body and one small impact and scratch on the shoulder (see picture 10). The cutting is excellent quality as is the blank and the copper wheel etching of the holly on the shoulder is also very nicely done. Picture 12 shows a portion of pg 194 from Revi\'s \'American Cut & Engraved Glass\' that shows the copyright pattern for Holly. This piece does slightly differ from the pattern shown in that the holly alternates between three and four leaves but the piece is likely still a Sinclaire product. This is a gorgeous and unusual shape of American Brilliant period crystal that is stunningly cut and engraved for your consideration.
