Description**** You are offerding on a gorgeous antique religious picture of Saint Barbara. The original frame (which has been painted or shellacked dark brown at some point) measures 25 1/2\" by 21 1/2\" and is 3\" wide. It also has the original matting and glass and as far as I can tell, the picture has never been removed from it`s frame. The colors of the lithograph are vivid and beautiful. The \"Martyr`s Crown\" she wears, the chalice and sword she holds and her outfit are accented with metallic braid. Her robes are fabric, sort of a wide whale corduroy, accented with sequins. There is a stain to the upper right corner of the mat which I have shown in the second to the last photo. Saint Barbara was a martyr who was born mid to late 3rd century and died early 4th century. She is the patron saint of tunnelers and miners so she was quite appropriate to have come from a North East Pennsylvania home. She is also the patron protectorate of Fireman, Artillerymen and Chemical Engineers. A gorgeous antique picture to add to your decor and collection.
