This Gorgeous designed Old German Black Forest Cuckoo Clock was found at a recent private estate sale (Please view the pictures below). This clock is very colorful with the main case created at a old mountain Chalet with sharply pitched roof. The overall size of the clock is very impressive with a overall length of 18\" from top of birds wing to bottom of the pendulum. One of the lovely focal points of the clock is the large Red Breasted forest bird perched at the top. She has her wings spread wide and hand painted with cheerful colors. She is perched on a tree branch that is accented on both sides with colorful Maple leaves. The center of the clock is framed with two more colorful birds and they are also hand painted the same as the bird above. The center displays the face that is numbered in Roman numerals and marked \"Germany\" at the bottom. At the center top is a little wooden hinged Green door that will open and let the Cuckoo bird out on the half hour and hour. On the half hour he will coo coo once and on the hour he will coo coo as many times needed for the hour of the day. While he is coo cooing , there is a musical chime that sounds in the background. The movement is of the finest German quality. It is make from solid Brass metal and powered by two Pine cone shaped weights that hang on brass chains. The movement is regulated by a Leaf designed pendulum that swings back and forth beneath the clock. This clock is in very good condition with no brakes or repairs that I can see anywhere. It also runs great and the cuckoo bird function works perfect.
