The use of Apples and Pomegranates are a typical Pennsylvania Motif in painted tinware.
A rare form. Un-covered cream jugs were generally found in Pennsylvania. They were squat shaped with a large flat spout. There were numerous holes entering the spout to collect the whey and keep it from leaving.
The painted decoration is bright and well executed. Bright red fruit and leaves in green. It also has a nice scrolled gold decorative highlight on the bottom edge. Great black base coat.
The pan is in wonderful original condition. There are no repairs or restorations. The paint is all original and the surface is grungy. There are minor paint losses and very minor rust as seen in the photos. There is a slight separation on one side of the he spout but still very stable.
There is also a gold highlight line running around the open top.
The strap handle is original.
