Due to unfit environmental agents, wrong maintenance or simply to time’s passing through, in fact, leather and vellum may lose moisture and shine, or even blacken because of the presence of microorganisms.

The action of Bibliopathos’ creams crosses bindings’ deterioration: it gives a natural shine back to vellums, without drying them out and it feeds and protects leathers, thanks to a percentage of natural wax which preserves the superficial layer from scratches and scrapings.

The presence of Cypress essential oil in both formulations, besides, produces a lightly bitter aroma disliked by wormholes, thus granting a further form of protection for books’ inner pages. Ancient monks were usually making their libraries in cypress wood for this reason.
