Big Beauty German Telefunken Opus 7 Radio, Restored, Great Performer& Beautiful:
I don't restore many of these big, heavy beauties anymore, but this one I got excited about! It's impressive. I've been restoring these amazing German radios since being trained on German Tube technology in the 1960s when I serviced the Grundig "Stenorette" dictating equipment. I went through the chassis, installed new filter capacitors, new rectifier, rebuilt the audio output stages, replaced a host of capacitors including all the coupling capacitors, and many others that needed replacing or that experience told us their circuit application caused them to have a history of failure. New dial lamps, lubricated the tuning mechanisms, etc etc etc. I expect this radio to give years of pleasure to the new owner. This is a beauty, certainly an eye catcher! Please look at the detailed pictures.AM, SW and FM all work well. As with all these radios, serious SW fun really requires an long wire antenna. At some time there was a veneer chip an inch or so in size from the lower rear left corner, it was glued back in place, it is OK but evident. All tubes are good, most are Telefunken. I am always happy to answer questions, so please feel free to ask! This is the off-season, so it's the wise time to buy!! Sale may be cancelled, and response posted, if payment is not received within 5 days. I box with lots of professional packing, these rare radios must not be damaged! This will be packaged in a new, super heavy duty double-wall U-Haul wardrobe box. Typically these OPUS 7s have a shipping weight of around 46 pounds when properly packed. Enough bubblewrap to put you in the bubble-wrap business. Thanks for looking, good luck offerding, and please look in on my other interesting sales.

This is the USA version of the Telefunken OPUS 7, so all the writing is in English, and the FM covers the full FM band...88-108. Set for 110-120 volt operation, other voltages would require a transformer. International buyers, please be sure your country permits the shipping of radios into your shipping address/country.
