Christmas Rose’. This
is blue shadowed vase. Shadowed background in blue is smoothly going to
white. Looks splendid. There is form production number 678 printed in green
on the backside. This design was created in 1936 by Cecilie Louise Hallin,
together with her husband Frederik August Hallin. Design is in Art Nouveau
style even technically it was done in 1930s. Frederik August Hallin
(1865-1947) was the creator of the first Christmas plate in 1895. He was a
painter at Aluminia. During 1885-1895 he was signing underglaze painter at
Royal Copenhagen factory. He worked for Bing & Grondahl in 1895 –1935.
Bing & Grondahl (B&G) was
founded in 1853 and existed until 1987, when Royal Copenhagen merged with
Bing and Grondahl. B & G, Bing & Grondahl refer to the founders:
Fred. Vilh. Grøndahl (1819-1856), technical director; the brothers M.H.
Bing (1819 - 1883) and J.H. Bing (1811 -1896) as economical directors. This
figurine is marked with three towers in green. This hallmark comes from the
City Coat of Arms of Copenhagen. ‘B&G’ printed below the tower in
green, ‘Copenhagen Porcelain’ printed in green semi-circle and ‘Made In
Denmark’ identify production of 1970-1983. There is also production painter initial ‘V’ on the
backside. We do not know the name of this artist.
Vase measures about 3” in its widest
diameter and stands 5 ½” (14 cm) tall. Condition is immaculate with no
cracks or chips found. Colors are bright and vibrant. Please take a look at
