• Pictures do not do the "ICING ON THE CAKE" items justice at all. Each piece is detailed with "tube lining" which I explain below. Also Jeanette McCall's use of color and texture make each piece truly unique!

  ABOUT THE ARTIST:
  Recognized for her skills in hand applied relief art, artist Jeanette McCall became well known for her work as Master Baker and a consistent culinary gold medal winner. Creating one of the Royal Wedding cakes for Prince Charles and Lady Diana is just one of her many accomplishments.ICING ON THE CAKE, Jeanette's new innovative line, introduces the transformation of her culinary efforts to truly stunning ceramic art with distinctive raised piping and delicate detail (tube lining). Designed with a classic style and elegance, each piece of art is just "ICING ON THE CAKE".ABOUT TUBE LINING:
  Tube lining is the art of adding raised relief decoration to ceramics. Soft clay slip is pushed through a tube onto the clay surface. As the technique developed, tube-lined "art pottery" has become much sought after by collectors as each piece is tube-lined and painted entirely by hand.
  The process begins with the transfer of design onto the ware and every piece is individually tube-lined. Skilled painters then apply layers of ceramic color and detail each piece making it unique. Several firings are required to maximize the use of color. Flowing raised lines and pristine fired color, combined with detailed and subtle brushstrokes are the hallmarks of Jeanette's work.
