Listed is the book: The Face Pullers: Photographing Native Canadians 1871-1939 by Brock Silversides. 1994. Fifth House Calgary. softcover. 10"x12" size. 184pp. 186 b&w photos. Slight scuffing to front and back cover, minor wear on edges of cover otherwise clean, tight copy. The photos in this book capture a way of life on the Canadian Plains that was quickly vanishing. Great early photos of warriors armed w/ guns, knives, swords,tomahawks and clubs. Viewing these pictures you almost feel like you have been transported in time to the Indian frontier of Canada. Two pictures show Indians in chains, having been arrested- others- tipi life on the plains. Two photos show rare scenes of Blackfoot sun dance ritual.
