Vintage c 1920s Bassett Calendar Confection Tin Box

Wonderful circa 1920s confection tin, from Geo. Bassett & Co. Done with an Asian theme in a brick-ish red color, the tin is also a working calendar. Pretty curved top to the tin, and the lid lifts off. There are three wheels on three sides of the tin to move the month, and the first and last numbers of the date. From England.

CONDITION:

The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear, some small scratches and scuffs, some handling marks and normal vintage soiling, some small dents and dings, etc.

Additional condition issues of note:

· There is some dark spotted patina on the lid and the lid is a bit darker than the base.

· Lid edges show some wear.

· Some larger scratches on the base, especially on the bottom side and the top side.

· Some noticeable denting on the top side of base as well.

· Some early rust starting here and there on the tin.

· Normal patina in the works inside.

· Bottom is still brilliant gold with some light-ish scuffs and wear.

· Open/close needs a bit of coaxing.

· Calendar wheels work fine, the calendar is functional.

Approximate size of tin is about 6.25” by 6” at widest areas, by about 3.25”.

The tin is empty.
