BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUEJAPANESE IMARI TEA CUP (Yunomi)

Minutedetail and vibrant colors decorate thisfine Imari tea bowl. Hand painted underglaze blue and overglaze polychrome enamels depict a serene Japanese teahouse upon a cliff overlooking the waves of a lake, surrounded by distant mountains. The imagery wraps completely around this wonderful cup, all coming together in an artistic and harmonious piece.The interior is decorated as well with ornate underglaze blue edge banding and a circular cartouche in the center. The cup is further highlighted by tasteful giltwork. Measuring approximately 3 1/4" across, theelegant Imari teabowl is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. Dating to the1800's, this splendid yunomi cup would make awonderful addition for the collector of fine Japanese antiques or the tea photos above.
