This is a beautiful, solid silver, tea strainer.
The haft appears to me to be inspired by the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. This was quite typical of the work of silversmith Lanson Limited who were operating at St Dunstan Works on Pemberton Street, in Birmingham from 1933 until the early 1960s when they were acquired by Edward Jones Ltd
The strainer weighs 45 g and is 148mm long.
The strainer is in superb condition.
The hallmark shows the anchor for Birmingham, the date letter P for 1964, and the maker\'s mark L Ltd for Lanson Limited, who were registered in Birmingham from 1933.
This is a superb example of a tea strainer which would grace anyone\'s collection. I\'m sorry to see it go really.
