About the Artist:

Josh Simpson (born August 17, 1949 in New Haven, Connecticut)

American glass artist, Josh Simpson’s work has been exhibited in numerous galleries around the world and is held in the collections of museums such as the Corning Museum of Glass; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and the Renwick Gallery.

He has created complex and unique work for over 40 years. Josh lives and works in the hills of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. He is married to the American astronaut Catherine Coleman. Josh\'s work includes imaginary planets and a variety of other vibrantly colored sculptural pieces often inspired by scientific, astrophysical or cosmological themes.

Josh Simpson, a deep space and cosmos inspired glass artist uses ancient tools and techniques to create one of a kind handmade Planets, Platters, Bowls, Vases and Sculptures.

About This Art Glass:

This is a large New Mexico series Hand Made Art Bowl in Blue with black, muted colorful flecks and veining. Bowl has amazing imagery in the beautiful detail within the glass. Bowl is in very good displayed condition with some scratching in the base and some display wear. Bowl is etched signed “Simpson” and dated 1.11.99 on the base. Bowl is approximately 11.75” OD and 4.75” H. This is an amazing piece of hand made Art Glass and a large work for Mr Simpson.
