Gorgeous Vintage Porcelain Historical Military Officer Hussar Figurine/Statuette
Stamped with a blue \"A\" on the bottom (looks very similar to the Alcora Spain porcelain mark)
Original foil label reads, Jose Ma. Alvarez, MADRID (label has fallen off, but will be included with figurine, it was originally stuck at the back of the figurine on the tree stump)
Mold looks to be numbered 2955
Statuette measures approx. 10 1/4\" tallNot sure if this is a specific historical figure, or which country he was from, but he is proudly dressed in his military uniform with a deep navy blue decorated jacket hanging on his shoulder. He is wearing a fur hat/helmet with plume and has a curved saber in it\'s sheath at his side.
He is holding a long pipe near his mouth which is framed in a handsome mustache and matching sideburns. He is leaning against a tree stump, and at the back you can see he is carrying at leather satchel. The base of the figurine is bordered in gold.This piece is in very nice condition. The only flaws I noticed were that there are some spots of paint missing in the black areas of the boots and saber sheath, and some very fine hairline cracks in the two thin porcelain straps that are connected to the side of the sheath. I cannot see any indication that there are any repairs to this spot, and I am not sure if the hairline crack is just on the one side that I can see, but there are no missing pieces or chips out of the porcelain. The hairline cracks are not even visible unless you are really looking for them.
