Beautiful Vintage Tambour Lace Christening Gown With Silk Slip:
This gown and slip are exquisite. I think it is all handmade and has the kind of time consuming details to reflect that. For example, the silk slip has sleeves embellished like the gown, with lace and entredeux/thin strips to bead ribbon. The gown is cotton net with cotton embroidery. There are no holes or problems like that. It does need, I think, a gentle hand wash. As you can see in the close up of a sleeve, and in the third photo, there are a few light rust-colored spots. However, they are light, and I expect can come out without much problem. Even a pretty fast hand soak in very hot water with oxyclean stain remover would do a nice job on this. Again, treat gently! It can definitely be used for a real christening, in fact it would probably be a "show stopper." The slip is separate and feels so special. Even the silk in this slip doesn't have holes, just again, would benefit from a gentle hand freshening. I have another beautiful tambour lace vintage christening gown listed this week and the two outfits, should one need two gowns, would make a wonderful set for, say, twins.
Measures 9 inches shoulder seam to shoulder seam, 27-1/2 inches top of shoulder to bottom of hem, and 20 inches chest circumference. Thanks for looking and enjoying!
