Beautiful Vtg Sterling Silver Inlaid/overlaid Concho 5" Salinas Show Curb Bit For Sale
Beautiful Vtg Sterling Silver Inlaid/Overlaid Concho 5" Salinas Show Curb Bit
Stunning vintage sterling silver inlaid and overlaid curb bit with 5" Salinas mouthpiece, sweet iron with roller. The shanks are approximately 5" long, and the purchase is approx. 2 1/2". Has been used enough for it to be considered loose jawed. Top of purchase is flaired to accomodate a thicker horse. The silver has been inset into the cheeks andslobber bar and further hand engraved, the rein ring buttons are sterling also as are the conchos. The hand engraving is deep and intricate, definately done by a talented individual and bears resemblance to bits sold by Vogt and Fleming during the 1960-70's. This was heavily tarnished black, I did a quick swipe with the cloth and it brightened up alot but is still rather dark in spots. No lifted silver or dings, bit is straight and true. It has received good care over the years.
This is a stunningbit with all the bells and whistlesand is ready to go to work or to add to your collection. The inlaid bits really are eye catching and it is hard to beat the amount of extra hand detailing that goes into them.
Thanks for looking and check out my otherpieces of vintage show equipment.
