Beautiful, working, prewar Continental bakelite radio. This model dates to the 1939 or 1940 model year and was manufactured by the Continental Radio and Television Corporation(C.R.&T.C.)of Chicago, IL which was the fore-runner to the better known brand \"Admiral\" of the 1940\'s through the 1970\'s. Continental made bakelite radios for re-branding by private sellers, like department stores. This was likely sold at a period department store. A beautifulmelding of the deco inspired half-moon dial and louvered grille. Excellent luster, agorgeous, marbled chocolate brown bakelite, swirled in lighter and darkershades. No cracks or chips, the photo shows reflections of the backdropblanket, me, and my camera, there is no marring.As with all my radios, the luster and sheen on the bakelite is natural, exhibiting the original characteristics of the bakelite when newly made....no coatings (permanent or temporary), sprays, or oils are used to glam it up.My process is unique and accomplished 100% by hand, using no power tools or buffing wheels, etc... The result is a surface that is as it was new, not just on the outside, easy to get to surfaces. Impeccably clean, inside and out, it will pass thewhite glove test- a final detail cleaning is accomplished with Q-tips, all the corners and pocketswere attended to- and the final result shows that off. Unit hasthe original knobs and dial lens, and cardboard back. It plays loudly, clearly withgood tone, no hum. The radio has a good (new), safe, power cord, with a period brown bakelite power plug. The radio measures 9 1/2 incheslong, 7 high, 6 deep.

All radios sold have had preventative electricalmaintainence, so that they perform as well in the foreseeable future...as theydo when you first get them. I stand behind the components I\'ve repaired, partsand labor- for 6 months. After that- free labor for 6 months. Why would youbother with someone who says they\'ve \"restored\" the radio and thentell you you are buying \"as is\"- and why would someone\'s warranty beworth anything if you can\'t find them again on ? The insides of my radios aregiven the same careful attention as the outsides are.
