This is a really lovely painting.
Original painting on paper.
This beautiful gouache on paper painting was created in France and used in the development of a woven carpet.
This design features lovely entwined vines of stylized flowers and leaves edged on all sides with charming acanthus-like leaves with flowers.
The colors include tones of bright salmon-pink, orange, wine, rose, pink, dusty gold, olive, green, blue, black, tan and brown.The entire piece measures 25 3/4 inches in width by 36 inches in length with the paper mount.
The painting measures 23 1/2 inches wide by 35 inches long. The width of the vertical part is 8 1/4 inches.
The height of the bottom part of the \"L\" is 10 3/4 inches.
This painting would be beautiful framed!
Condition:
This is an antique painting.
There is a grid throughout in the background, which was used by weavers as a guide.
There are creases/scratches in the paint throughout as well as surface dirt.
