BEZALEL SILVER Chanukah/">Hannukah MENORAH MACCABI JUDAICA RABAN Jewish Art Palestine Gift

Here\'s a rare reproduction of the famous Bezalel School of \"Palestine\" Menorah. It was reproduced some time in the past 10 years from ORIGINAL MOLDS of the real Menorah, making this an authentic Bezalel Menora, albeight a present day creation. I\'ve seen these repro\'s going for $800 and more on the internet on less than honest sellers. (see my guide on these fakes and other fakers).

The theme of this Chanukiyah is naturally the hannuka story. If you notice, the old man with the beard is mattisyahu, the father of the maccabean fighters chasing away the Hellenized jews (far right) who wanted to offer a pig on the altar of G-d. On the bottom left is a persecuted jew holding a stone from the altar, next to the stone is a fallen jug of oil and above that seems to be a full jug of pure olive oil ready to light the Menorah (candelabra) of the temple, thus starting the Hanuka miracle story believed by Jews, Christians and I guess Moslems too. On the bottom is the lettering stating Bezalel Jerusalem. The person in charge of this and many of the other Bezalel Menorot was the well known artist Ze\'ev Raban.

This Menorah is silver plated over copper.

Measurements: 7 1/4 inches = 18.5cm wide and at it\'s highest and 19.5cm = 7 3/4 inches.
