Vintage King James Bible with Autograph of Mitsuo Fuchida - 1950's

Mitsuo Fuchida was born in Nara Prefecture, Japan, in December 1902 and died in 1976 in Kashiwara. He served in the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service, as a bomber aviator, planning and leading the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on Dec. 7, 1941. He was the person responsible for the famous "Tora!, Tora!, Tora! communication, indicating that there had been a successful surprise attack on the American fleet. After WWII, Fuchida became a Christian evangelist and traveled around the US sharing his story. Fuchida coauthored the book Midway: The Battle That Doomed Japan, The Japanese Navy's Story. This bible, a Thompson Chain Reference King James edition, wasautographed for the pastor of a Baptist church where Fuchida spoke in the late 1950's. The autograph was cut out of the Bible by his son for "Show and Tell" at school (without dad's permission) and taped back in place. The signature is strong and clear and I've placed copyright information across it just to prevent someone from making a photocopy. The bible is in well used condition with underlining and notes throughout. Mitsuo Fuchida autographs have sold for over three thousand dollars, and a movie about his life is in progress, so I think this starting price is reasonable and a good value. Great find for a collector of WWII related autographs!
