Fine Big OldChinese Nephrite Jade CarvedMonkeyRidding Horse Statue. It was made into amonkeyridding on the back of a lying horseimage. Also designed with a small horse standing beside the big horse. This is a jade ware named ma shang feng hou (literally, "bestowed the title of marquis at once"). The pronunciation of the Chinese characters can also mean "a monkey on the back of a horse", hence the shape of the item.There\'s a Chinese proberb saying that \'be victorious the moment the battle steeds arrive\'. It means winning success immediately upon arrival or gaining an immediate victory. That\'s what the horse symbolizes.The craftmanship is very vivid with carving on every detail. The color isattractiveceladon with natural brown veining inside the stone. The condition is generally good. The jade is very glossy and smooth. Nice old polish.
