Black Lacquer Wood Trinket Box Women Winter Well Red Inside Footed Gold Accents:
Black Lacquer Wood Trinket Box
Here's a neat place to stash little things - a smallwood trinket box with hinged lid and four feet.Decorated with a scene of women at a well in winter with gold accents. Inside is painted red.
Measures 4" x 3" x 1 1/2".
The winter scene depicts 2 women whispering by the well, while another walks away carrying two pails on a pole. In the background are 2 houses, a couple of people, and a horse.
To me it seems as if the top is decoupaged (the art of decorating an object by gluing colored paper cutouts onto it) and the sides seem to have handpainted gold swirls.
This is a found item, so I don't know its history - age and or origin.
Condition - preowned with minimal age/wear.
