This exquisite antique reproduction Bébé Bru Brevete, is handmade by Branka Scharli of the Swiss Doll Studio. The Bru Brevete was produced from 1878 to 1883. This little girl is a Bleuette cousin. She has a darling child like, chunky face. She has a jointed all wood Bleuette body and stands 11 inches high and can share Bleuette’s clothes. Her eyes are brown PPW glass. She has a soft platinum blond mohair wig on a cork pate. It has a side part and shoulder length loose curls. It is tied with an olive green silk hair bow. Hers ears are pierced and she wears handmade green glass bead earrings. She has a closed mouth and softly painted lips with the tiniest smile. Her pale bisque complexion gives her a nice antique look. She was poured in a Seeley’s mold with lady white porcelain slip. She comes dressed in a cute ladybug “T” top and corduroy knickers. She is perfect—brand new—never been displayed.
Note from Branka Schärli
I am a librarian by profession, but as I can remember, I always loved painting. And I give always best possible to make quality antique replica dolls. I live in Switzerland, with my two cats and husband Kurt-my greatest supporter. My husband has always encouraged my doll making with love, care and understanding and has adapted well to the often difficult role of husband of a doll maker. I have been selling on since 2007. I am a member of the Doll Artisan Guild (DAG) and a Master of Dollmaking.
