Bleuette Little Star S&h 1448 Ppw 11" Doll Reproduction Margaret Ann Wolfe:
Little Star S & H 1448 11” Wood Global Blond Mohair Grey/Blue PPW Eyes MINT Artist: Margaret Ann Wolfe
Little Star, Simon and Halbig 1448 antique repro doll, has been exquisitely made and painted by internationally respected, award winning doll artist, Margaret Ann Wolfe. Little Star is a strikingly beautiful and extremely unusual German doll. She was made around 1912 and been called Mein Leibling’s half sister due to the close resemblance. Presumably only 100 dolls were made therefore this doll, in its antique original form, is almost impossible to find. This doll has an exceptionally beautiful gently smiling facial expression. Her lips are especially beautifully done. She is Bleuette’s German friend and is a favorite among Bleuette collectors. She is on a Global jointed all wood body and stands 11 inches high. Her light grey/blue eyes are blown threaded PPW glass and so gorgeous. She has a blond antique mohair wig. She is wearing a Victorian style crocheted dress of rose and cream. Her bonnet is tucked under her dress. Included are undies, white socks and ribbon tie leather shoes. She is perfect -- MINT – never displayed.
Note from Margaret Ann Wolfe: During my doll show days and for many years of attending them, I only saw an original of this little gem once! And her price tag of $18,000, around 15 years ago, was a testament to how rare she really is. I have no idea how many were made, but now is your chance to acquire a fine replica by an authentic and fine artist in the field! I am proud to say that my dolls have been sold all over the world.
