Blown Flint Glass 3 Ring Pint Decanter Bottle Thomas Cains Boston Sandwich Negc For Sale
This listing is for a rare antique footed pint decanter with its original ground-in waffle sunburst pattern pressed glass stopper. It has a ground and polished pontil, and good base wear. The stopper has a very nice clean snap-off at the bottom, and the "grated" or "waffle" center pattern has horizontal lines on one side, and vertical lines on the other. It is relatively crudely pressed, and what looks like an inch of loss to the one edge is actually due to an incompletely filled mold - it does have a small chip on this rough edge, and a tiny nick a bit lower (both probably original, due to the rough mold seam). The bottle itself is amazing, and has only a few light surface scratches. The glass is incredibly clear, and is nearly free of bubbles or inclusions. It measures 9.1" to the top of the stopper, and 7.2" to the top of the rim. This piece is as close to "new" condition as you will ever find on pre-1850 glass!
