CD rated \"10\": flawless, as new. A \"9\" may have a tiny mark or two barely visible. (= \'s \"Like New\" grade)
CD rated \"8\": a few very minor marks, no scuffs, extremely clean CD for its age (= the top of \'s \"Very Good\" scale).
CD rated \"5\": Several light marks and possibly a light scuff; still above average and collectible. (= bottom of \'s \"Very Good\" scale).
CD rated \"3\": Typical \"used CD\" you see in the shops, plays fine but has standard amount of wear for its age. (= \'s \"Good\" grade)

Inserts rated \"10\": flawless as new.
Inserts rated \"8\": very light wear, no tab dents, superb for its age.
Inserts rated \"5\": possibly a light tab dent and a bit of wear or a crease, still a nice above average copy.
Inserts rated \"3\": possible tab dents, plus more visible wear seen on typical vintage CDs.
