DESCRIPTION: A big, beautiful, rare figure of a child and dog. Made by Dahl Jensen, a Denmark company which closed in 1985. This figure was designed by Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen himself. Quite large, about7" high x 13 1/2" wide, and weighs about4 lbs. Very cute, a boy ina tug of war with his dog over his pants. Marked on the bottom as shown with the typical Dahl-Jensen hallmark, it says: DJ COPENHAGEN DENMARK 1072 BH. Impressed on top of base with "Dahl-Jensen". It does have a light scratch through the hallmark indicating a factory 2nd. The onlyflaws I can find are a small spot on the dog's left hip (back side) that appears to have a small glaze miss,a few moreeven smaller spots that look likemaybe frombubbles in the glaze?- you have to look at just the right angle & light to see them,someTINY specks in the finish like dust in the glaze. None of those are detracting, or even noticeable- you must look very closely to find them. I'm showing some photos with extreme closeups & arrows to showthe flaws, truly nothing you will notice on display. Otherwisein excellent condition, no chips, cracks or crazing. White spots in photos are from light reflections. This is my favorite category of dog figures- dogs with their kids, best buddies! Offerred at a much lower than normal price due to being a factory 2nd. You won't be disappointed with this rare and beautiful figure.

Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen originally worked for Bing & Grondahl, then started his own company, which was in business from 1925-1985. He is very well known for his dog figures which really show the personality of the breeds. These dogs are very collectible & highly sought after by dog lovers.
