This beautifully constructed solid brass reconstruction of our solar system is without doubt as good as this kind of machine gets without commissioning a hand made model at massive expense.
This model is complete and in excellent working order. The base contains a mains powered (120~240 volt) electric motor and gearbox. There is also a speed controller allowing the model to slow right down to the point it hardly seems to moving at all. On ‘full speed’ it has a gentle non hurried feel which is very relaxing to watch. Meanwhile the on/off switch allows the power to be fed into the gearbox in either direction meaning the model can be run ‘backwards in time’. The correct mains power unit is included.
All the traditional planets, including redefined planet Pluto are included, as well as the inner system Dwarf planet Ceres and far flung distant Eris, making this an 11 planet Orrery.
Those planets with a moon or multiple moons have these represented . The Earth steals the show however, as it is also geared to rotate, which in turn allows our moon to revolve around the earth as it moves.
This orrery is nearly completely assemblied, only left the feet and planets, which will cause packaging problems if also be assemblied to the orrery body, to be assemblied by yourself. The allen keys will be shipped along with it.Note the feet and planets are very easy to assembly and everyone can finish it in 3 minutes.
