British Chess Company Xylonite Knights part antique Royal chess set pieces rare:

This is a partial set for replacement pieces. These chess pieces were manufactured by The British Chess Company circa 1890. Ther are part of the Royal Chessmen line after the Staunton design. It consists of 2 black Xylonite Knights one kingside Knight that is marked with the red crown and one unmarked queenside Knight. The crown-marked kingside knight is in perfect condition besides its aged patina. The queenside Knight has a fleabite chip on its base. I tried to capture the crown marking the kingside knight in a photo and it is discernible. There are 5 white Pawns and 3 black Pawns. One black Pawn has a hairline crack as seen in the picture. One white Pawn has a small chip in its collar, also pictured. The Pawns are 1 3/4 inches tall and their bases are 1 1/4 inches in diameter. The Knights are 2 1/4 inches tall and their bases are 1 3/8 inches in diameter. Their baize bottoms all match. One of the white Pawns has a small hole in its baize bottom, as seen in picture. These are nice peices for someone looking to complete a rare chess set. The chess board is not part of this sale.
